Virgin Flight to Orlando

This year we flew with Virgin Atlantic to Orlando. When booking you could state Gluten Free or Vegan etc but not multiple allergies. I emailed the special assistance department to check they could cater for Dairy, Egg and Gluten free. I got a reply saying no problem. We traveled Upper Class on the way out so I was interested too see what I'd get.

My husbands meal choices were all delicious sounding so I was hoping mine would be the same.

For starters I got a vegetable soup which was really tasty for a veggie soup. My main course was a chicken breast with a tasty sauce, sauteed potatoes and veg. Again really tasty even though it was pretty simple. When it came to dessert I thought here comes the fruit salad but no, to my surprise it was an apple crumble. Impressed! A really tasty one too with a nice hint of cinnamon.  Was very pleased with my meal. I had taken a few snacks with me too so I definitely didn't go hungry.

The "afternoon tea" part of the service wasn't quite as exciting for me. My husband was served an array of fancy cakes and sandwiches. Unfortunately I was given one Gluten Free Chicken Salad roll which I didn't risk eating as it had Mayo on and usually GF bread contains Egg.  It didn't bother me too much as I wasn't hungry but at least they had tried, goes to show that multiple intolerance's are more tricky to cater for.

All in all I was happy with the service and choices I'd been given but you do still have to have your whits about you and go with your instinct.
